Operations Manager
This is a hands‑on, people‑centered leadership role for someone who thrives in complex construction environments and enjoys building strong teams. The Vice President of Construction will lead our construction operations, support and develop our project managers, and work closely with finance, service, and field leadership to drive smart growth and sustainable profitability. We’re looking for a leader who brings strong construction and project management experience, sound judgment, and the ability to hold teams accountable while maintaining a collaborative, respectful culture.
A mechanical or HVAC background is a plus, but not a requirement; we value leadership, operational excellence, and the ability to learn and adapt just as much.

- Lead a construction team of project managers, labor coordinator, and oversight of up to 100 total team members, including field staff
- Create clarity around expectations, accountability, and performance for project managers
- Support a team structure that scales with project size, including project supervisors or assistants when appropriate
- Foster a culture of teamwork, ownership, and continuous improvement
- Provide leadership across both design‑build and plan & spec projects
- Oversee a variety of commercial construction projects ranging in size and complexity
- Ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with the company’s standards
- Serve as a steady presence for resolving challenges on complex or high‑visibility projects
- Partner closely with the CFO on job cost reviews, forecasting, and financial planning
- Hold project managers accountable for financial results and margin performance
- Lead efforts to improve margins in the plan & spec division while maintaining strong design‑build performance
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, productivity, and profitability Build Strong Partnerships
- Manage and strengthen relationships with general contractors, reinforcing the company’s reputation as a trusted partner
- Collaborate closely with the labor coordinator to ensure effective workforce planning and labor utilization
- Work alongside the service manager and leadership team to ensure alignment across divisions
- Oversee the CAD department (currently two team members)
- Champion the continued growth of the company’s prefabrication initiative
- Encourage collaboration between CAD, project management, and field teams to improve efficiency, quality, and safety
- Bachelor’s degree in construction science, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience required.
- 10–20 years of related construction operations experience, based on assigned area of operations
- 15+ years in a Project Manager role on commercial construction projects of $5M or more
- Proven experience in managing large‑scale construction projects, including budget oversight, scheduling, and team leadership.
- Knowledge of construction methods, local codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
