This position reports to the Director of the Financial Assistance Services Department and will be responsible for coordinating assigned program activities and operations within the department and with outside agencies. Provide necessary administrative support to the Financial Assistance Services Department Director. Perform duties and responsibilities of Director in their absence. At the direction of the Department director, the deputy director provides direction and executive support for overall management and operations functions including service centers and community-based services, represents FASD on county-wide policy development work groups, including legislative platform development.
Provide executive support for internal and external stakeholder relationships. Manage and lead department efforts to develop and create a shared vision and process for development that improves economic growth and business retention and expansion that provides value to Ramsey County residents and is consistent with Ramsey County’s mission, vision and goals; assist with the overall vision, long-range strategic planning, leadership and direction of the Community Services and Supports service team and to perform related duties as assigned.
To plan, organize, direct, and manage a designated area such as administrative services, field services, facilities or community relations in order to lead change, racial equity and reform work, program services, and performance measures of the assigned department, including but not limited to human resource management, department budget and fiscal services, purchase of services and grants administration, staff training, community relations, public and media affairs, department strategic planning, information services, department-wide policies and program planning and analysis and perform related duties as assigned.
May perform duties and responsibilities of the director in their absence.
This position is identified under the designation of ‘flex work eligible’, meaning that the employee can formally opt to be in-office full-time or work a flex schedule in which at least two days per week are performed in office and other days can be performed in a remote-first environment. Regardless of selection, the position carries expectations regarding on-site responsibilities and will require schedule flexibility beyond the minimum expectations set forth in the county’s flexible workplace policy.
