The Center for Victims of Torture works toward a future in which torture ceases to exist and its victims have hope for a new life. We are an international nonprofit dedicated to healing survivors of torture. We offer rehabilitation services to those who have been tortured, train partners around the world who can prevent and treat torture, and advocate for human rights and an end to torture.
We are headquartered in Minnesota, and we have US offices in Georgia and DC, as well as offices in Africa, the Middle East, and Mexico.
The Center for Victims of Torture is hiring a Deputy Director of Global Clinical Services to provide operational leadership to translate clinical strategy into coordinated high-quality program delivery across CVT's global portfolio of mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS), physiotherapy, case management, and related services. As a key partner to the Senior Director of Global Clinical Services, this role bridges clinical vision and program operations, bringing together program management and clinical perspectives to ensure programs have the systems, resources, and support needed to deliver services with fidelity, consistency, and quality.
The Deputy Director contributes an operational lens to departmental strategy development and oversees cross-program systems including resource allocation, risk management, and coordination. This position fosters collaboration across departments and partnerships and contributes to fundraising and donor engagement by aligning program implementation with donor priorities and funding strategies.
Position open to:
- Candidates located in the U.S. who are authorized to work in U.S. and will not need CVT to sponsor them on a work visa.
- Candidates located in Ethiopia, Jordan, Kenya or Uganda who are authorized to work in the country in which they are located.

- Position is fully remote.

Responsibilities:
- Strategy Implementation, Operational Leadership, and Coordination:
Contribute to clarifying and strengthening CVT's global clinical vision; champion this vision and steward programs with energy, compassion, and care. Translate clinical strategy and vision into concrete systems, operational processes, and actionable work plans. Coordinate clinical operations across the global portfolio, ensuring consistent implementation of standards, protocols, and fidelity to priority models of care. With senior clinical leaders, identify roadblocks and implement operational solutions to strengthen clinical quality and impact.
Oversee departmental budget and determine allocation of resources, with the Senior Director. Support effective and efficient use of financial, human, and operational resources across the portfolio. Establish and maintain mechanisms that promote coordination, shared decision-making, learning exchange, and integrated programming across operational and clinical staff within the Global Clinical Services department, and with other departments, including Justice, Accountability, and Systems Change (JAS) and Evaluation and Research (E&R). - Staff Leadership and Supervision:
Supervise, recruit, and develop designated staff, including through regular coaching and performance management. Foster strong team cohesion and a culture of accountability, collaboration, wellbeing, and continuous improvement among staff.
