Engineering Project Manager
This position is anchored within the Project Management Department and operates under limited supervision. The role is responsible for leading complex cross-functional projects from initiation through completion. The role drives strategic execution while ensuring alignment with the company's development procedures, scope, budgetary constraints, and established timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of comprehensive project plans, goals, scope, deliverables, timelines, and budgets. Establish KPIs and success metrics to monitor performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Lead, mentor, and influence cross-functional teams by assigning responsibilities, facilitating meetings, and fostering a collaborative environment. Collaborate with teams to strategize and adapt plans in response to evolving requirements.
- Liaise with functional and site leadership to synchronize internal resources and capacity, ensuring optimal support for project timelines and delivery commitments.
- Implement project plans effectively, track progress, manage changes, and ensure timely completion of tasks while optimizing cost and resource allocation. Drive execution of medium to high-complexity projects, ensuring adherence to company processes and governance standards.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders. Deliver clear, date-driven project updates, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations to leadership. Coordinate and lead site visits and technical reviews.
- Proactively identify potential project risks and issues, implementing appropriate mitigation strategies, corrective actions, and preventive measures to minimize impact and ensure project integrity.
- Uphold high standards of quality throughout the project lifecycle and ensure proper documentation of processes and outcomes to support transparency and knowledge sharing. Promote best practices and continuous improvement methodologies across teams.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a relevant discipline, or equivalent experience. Minimum of five years of experience in project management or project engineering, including experience leading cross-functional technical projects. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects of moderate to high complexity. Advanced proficiency in project management tools including MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Jira, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Project Management Professional (PMP) processes and methodologies.
- Technical expertise in the development and manufacturing of electronic devices.
- Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Proven ability to articulate complex technical concepts, project status, and risks effectively to both internal and external stakeholders.
Additional Requirements
The role requires strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently while driving collaboration across diverse teams. Must be willing to travel as required.
Physical Demands
This position requires the ability to perform sedentary work, including sitting for extended periods. It involves operating a computer and other office equipment. The role may also require the ability to periodically stand, walk, stoop, bend, and reach, and may involve lifting objects up to 10 pounds occasionally.
