Status: Full Time, Exempt

Location: Twin Cities

Reports to: Assistant Director of Family Advocacy

Supervises: 5-7 Community Advocates

About us

Esperanza United mobilizes Latinas and Latine communities to end domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking. Formerly Casa de Esperanza, Esperanza United was founded in 1982 by a small group of persevering Latinas as an emergency shelter in St. Paul, Minnesota. We continue to ground our work in community strengths and wisdom, as we serve Latines locally and nationwide.

Position Overview:

The Community Advocacy Manager leads culturally responsive, trauma-informed advocacy services for Latine survivors and their children in the Twin Cities. This role guides program strategy and daily operations, supervises a team of Community Advocates, manages budgets and grant deliverables, uses data to strengthen services, and represents Esperanza United through community partnerships, workshops, and presentations.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead and strengthen culturally responsive community advocacy services for Latine survivors and their children.
  • Implement and deliver the Family Advocacy work plan into effective services, coordinate community resources, and collaborate with participants, staff, and partners to advance best practices.
  • Manage program budgets, grant deliverables, data quality, outcome reporting, and the responsible use of financial resources.
  • Provide crisis line, Refugio, and scheduled on-call support as needed.
  • Represent Esperanza United at community events and external meetings, and lead educational workshops and presentations.

You will also lead a team of 5–7 Community Advocates by:

  • Providing coaching and professional development.
  • Support recruitment and onboarding.
  • Monitor performance and documentation.
  • Foster an accountable, collaborative, and mission-centered team culture.
What You’ll Bring
  • A bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field and at least four years of supervisory and program management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills in Spanish and English.
  • Knowledge of and experience working with Latine communities, with demonstrated cultural responsiveness to the strengths, values, needs, and realities of Latine survivors.
  • A collaborative, relationship-centered leadership style, with the ability to coach staff, resolve conflict, organize competing priorities, meet deadlines, and use technology effectively.
  • Knowledge of domestic violence dynamics and trauma-informed approaches is preferred.
  • Availability for local travel and occasional evening or weekend work; a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and required automobile insurance.
