The Medicaid Reporting Team Lead reports to the Health Care Accounting Supervisor and works with leadership and their assigned staff to help them identify and prioritize funding in alignment with the strategic goals in the Department of Human Services' (DHS) strategic plan and monitor their progress toward achieving these goals. The position works on the development of reporting that is used in strategic planning, including but not limited to the coordination and determination of submission of federal Medicaid and CHIP quarterly reports (CMS 64 21), annual reports (Federal & State Incurred but not Report
-IBNR), the state IBNR is part of the state's Annual Comprehensive Financial Report to Minnesota Management & Budget, project summaries, and audit documentation. Finally, the position provides management with information necessary for decision-making, process improvement, and long-range organizational or systems planning.

** Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:*
* + Develop and coordinate strategic long-range planning and operational strategies so that federal Medicaid funds are obtained and reported, agency objectives are met, and financial resources are used effectively, efficiently, and economically.

+ Provide project management of a complex federal report quarterly.

+  Direct and coordinate budget development for Medicaid based on Forecast and state/federal rules.

+ Coordinates end of fiscal year activities and oversees the review of invoices or journal vouchers for certain high dollar and high-profile payments in the statewide accounting system (SWIFT).

+ Serve as the unit's lead worker in training staff on procedures, documenting and organizing training material and reviewing the work of unit accountants.

+ Coordinate, develop, monitor, revise, test, and manage accounting policies, procedures, programming specifications, and processes used to report health care fiscal activity.

+ Manage and maintain the MMIS funding code table which is the bridge between MMIS and SWIFT for federal claims financing.
