Director of Interceptor Services

The Metropolitan Council is the regional planning agency for the Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan area providing essential services to ourregion: transportation, wastewater collection and treatment, growth and development of local communities, affordable housing programs, and regional park systems.

This position is responsible for the comprehensive management and strategic direction of the Interceptor Services business unit within the Environmental Services Division. This role involves setting a clear vision andhigh standards for the unit, ensuring that organizational goals and policies are achieved while fostering a culture of excellence, safety, and collaboration. The Director will develop and implement business strategies thatalign with emerging industry trends and customer needs, ensuring operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and financial stability.

This position alsoplays a pivotal role in driving innovation, managing large-scale infrastructure, and representing the division in various forums.

Any of the following combinations of completed education (in engineering, wastewater treatment and technology, management, or related field) and experience (in wastewater collection system maintenance or related field):

• Bachelor'sor higher degree with nine years of experience, including five yearsof management experience.
• Associate degree with eleven years of experience, including five years of management experience.
• High school diploma/GED with thirteen years of experience, including five yearsof management experience.
