Our client in the plastics manufacturing industry is seeking a 3rd Shift Production Supervisor to lead overnight operations. This role oversees a small production team of approximately 7 employees while ensuring safety, quality, and productivity across 5–6 production lines. The ideal candidate has hands‑on manufacturing leadership experience, is comfortable working off‑shift hours, and enjoys developing employees while driving continuous improvement. This is a stable, long‑term opportunity with direct ownership of nightly production performance.
ProductionSupervisor - 3rd Shift (Plastics Manufacturing) Responsibilities
- Supervise 3rd shift operations across 5–6 production lines
- Lead and support a team of approximately 7 Technicians, Inspectors, and Packers
- Plan and assign daily work to meet production schedules and quality standards
- Communicate and coordinate with other shift supervisors to ensure smooth shift handoffs
- Track production activity and work to minimize downtime
- Coordinate with Maintenance to support equipment start-up, shutdown, and repairs
- Monitor production performance and recommend process improvements
- Train, onboard, and coach team members
- Enforce company policies, procedures, and safety standards
- Maintain accurate production records, documentation, and employee files
- Compile and submit timecard information for payroll processing
- Act as first responder for safety incidents and complete initial injury reports as required
- Partner with HR and leadership on employee relations and staffing needs
- 3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment is required
- Familiarity with production control techniques is required
- Computer proficiency and ability to learn new software is required
- Fluency in spoken and written English is required
- Ability to train on 1st shift for the first 2–3 weeks is required
- Ability to work 100% onsite is required
