Wage: $23 - $28 per hour (depending on experience)
Shift: 1st Shift: Monday–Thursday, 5:00 AM–3:30 PM, with mandatory overtime on Fridays as required by production schedule and needs.
Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinist to join our casting machine shop team. The CNC Machinist is responsible for operating CNC equipment to produce iron cast components that meet engineering specifications, dimensional tolerances, and quality standards. This role focuses on machine operation, quality verification, and process control in a production environment. The ideal candidate has experience machining iron castings, reading technical documentation, and maintaining consistent part quality throughout production runs.
Key Responsibilities- Operate CNC machining centers, including mills, lathes, and multi-axis machines, for the production of iron cast components.
- Load and unload parts, tools, and fixtures in accordance with established work instructions.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, job travelers, and process documentation.
- Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, etc.).
- Monitor machining processes and make approved operational adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
- Identify and report nonconforming conditions, tool wear, or process deviations to supervision or Quality.
- Work collaboratively with Quality and Engineering to support corrective actions and continuous improvement efforts.
- Maintain CNC equipment and workstations in clean, organized, and safe conditions.
- Accurately complete production and inspection documentation per company procedures.
- Adhere to all safety requirements, quality standards, and company policies.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical school training or apprenticeship preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of CNC machining experience in a production environment.
- Proven experience machining iron or ferrous castings.
- Working knowledge of CNC machine controls (Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, or similar).
- Proficient in the use of precision measuring tools and inspection equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, routings, and technical documentation, including GD&T.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods of time.
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to machine noise, metal dust, and iron chips.
- Required use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Overtime and schedule flexibility may be required based on production demands.
