Mechanical Technician
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to apply strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills in developing specialized nonwovens process technology and equipment. This role involves working with both lab line equipment and larger roll‑to‑roll web processing systems.
Responsibilities- Configure, operate, and maintain process equipment, including lab line systems.
- Measure and characterize the properties of nonwoven materials off the production line.
- Keep detailed records and communicate technical work and results effectively.
- Follow and develop standard operating procedures while adapting to changing priorities and evolving run plans.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Handle materials, including lifting pails, moving pallets, and completing other assigned duties.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving ability.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to excel in a highly interdisciplinary, team‑oriented work environment.
Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or higher.
- At least one year of technician or operator experience in an industrial setting.
- Associate degree or two‑year technical program certificate in mechanical, materials, or process engineering, or a similar field.
- Two or more years of experience in nonwovens or fiber processing, web processing, or roll‑to‑roll processing.
- Experience in process development using 5S, Six Sigma, SPC, or similar methodologies.
The role requires frequent work on lab line equipment and regular adaptation to shifting operational priorities. The environment is high‑speed and team‑based, emphasizing safety and organization.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Maplewood, MN.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
