Job Title:

General Production Worker Job Description

The primary focus of this role is to operate and control equipment units or systems that process chemical substances into specified products, according to knowledge of operating procedures and chemical reactions.

Responsibilities
  • Read plant specifications to ascertain product, ingredients, and prescribed modifications of plant procedures.
  • Start feed of materials through equipment units, such as heating vessels and mixing tanks; or dump pre‑weighed ingredients into tanks, hoppers, or onto conveyor.
  • Move controls to regulate feed of liquids and gases through equipment in specified timing and sequence, or start automatic feed.
  • Set up and adjust indicating and controlling devices to facilitate simultaneous analysis and control of process conditions.
  • Observe gauges, signals, and recording instruments, turn valves, and move controls to regulate temperatures, pressures, and flow.
  • Draw samples of product at specified stages to ensure that the reaction is proceeding efficiently and in conformity with plant standards.
  • Maintain log of gauge readings, shift production, and equipment malfunctions.
  • Review daily mix schedules and ensure the raw materials required are available.
  • Follow mix instructions and accurately add raw materials to the mixes manually, using pumps or mixing systems.
  • Mix batches using variable agitation.
  • Perform routine observation of product during the mixing and filling process to ensure batch quality.
  • Report any out‑of‑spec raw material, premixes, or mixed batches and consult with Quality personnel on any batch adjustments.
  • Properly clean out all mix tanks.
  • Operate fork trucks, palletizers, scales, pumps, and other material handling equipment to transport raw material and finished product.
  • Perform building and equipment preventative maintenance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Ability to understand systems, pumps, read meters, basic Quality Control data, and track mixing and quality information (mix logs, batch adjustments, etc.)
  • Ability to perform basic Quality Control tests (take samples, perform pH tests)
  • Experience simultaneously mixing several tanks and accurately completing related documents
  • Ability to read and match numbers on shipping records, labels, raw materials, and finished goods

Work Environment

This position is located in the person, MN, operating on a third shift schedule from Sunday to Thursday, 10:30 pm to 7:00 am. Employees must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs and participate in respirator fitness if required. The role involves working with various technologies and equipment in a regulated plant environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
