Hartzell Aerospace Welding is seeking a highly skilled and experienced TIG Welder III to join our team. This role is responsible for performing complex TIG welding operations on a variety of metals, ensuring high‑quality welds that meet industry standards and engineering specifications.
Responsibilities- Perform TIG (GTAW) welding on thin‑gauge materials (typically 0.035"–0.065"), including aluminum, stainless steel, and specialty alloys
- Demonstrated expertise welding aluminum alloys such as 6061
- Fabrication and welding of customer parts and assemblies as requested
- Handle high variety, low volume part work
- Ensure 90%+ of completed parts pass inspection
- Offer viable semi‑annual process improvement initiatives
- Follow all safety policies and guidelines
- Complete all necessary documentation for proper tracking of work
- General shop housekeeping
- TIG welding machines
- Belt sanders, hand‑held sanders and grinders
- Powered saws
- Various hand tools
- In‑process inspection tools such as measuring tapes, radial/digital calipers, height gauges, etc.
- High School diploma or GED
- Successful completion of an accredited welding course or equivalent on‑the‑job training and 5+ years of TIG welding experience, with at least 3 years focused on thin‑gauge aluminum
- Ability to complete AWS D17.1 class A multi‑position weld test
- Proven ability to weld material under 1/8" thickness without distortion
- Willing and able to follow verbal and written work instructions
- Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods
- Demonstrated ability to perform basic mathematical calculations in fractions and decimals
- Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs
