Pay: $25-$30/hr based on experience
Bonus: Eligible for quarterly Operations Bonus
Schedule: 1st Shift 6am-2:30pm or 6:30am-3pm Monday - Friday
The Quality Technician will perform inspections, verifications and documentation of first article inspection from the floor and final inspection verifying conformance to the print using inspection techniques and a variety of precision tools. Implementation of tools to improve quality and reduce scrap. Provide continuous improvement of processes, parts and production. Trouble-shoot, problem solve and train the operators to understand the root cause.
Maintains monitors and schedules the gage calibration program to ensure conformance with outside services for this facility and reduce calibration cost.
What will you do as a Quality Technician?
- Using inspection techniques and a variety of precision tools and coordinate measuring machines (1st article inspection) determine parts' conformance to print requirements
- Administer gaged calibration process to ensure produced and assembled items conform to print requirements
- Assist production and assembly, as needed, in interpreting print data insuring products/ items meet print requirement(s)
- Ensure successful new product launch(s) working with design engineering using several measuring tools/techniques confirming items meet specified requirements
- Communicate with suppliers regarding quality problems/issues with items and work with them, sometime with other employees, to implement corrective actions.
- Assist Quality Manager in directing the Quality Management System (ISO)
- Complete documentation needed to support several testing procedures / methods
- Calibrate, validate, and maintain gauging and other measuring equipment and tools
- Perform other related responsibilities as needed and as assigned.
Education:
- Associate degree in engineering or business-related field; or equivalent experience/education.
- 3-5 years in manufacturing (ideally in a precision machine shop) and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience to include reading and interpretation of prints, standard engineering terms & their application, Microsoft Office, responsibilities in an ISO environment such as Internal Auditor.
- Able to write PC-DMIS code in CMM is valuable.
- Able to measure with calipers, micrometers, tape measure, and CMM.
- Effective communication skills - both written and verbal, and, conflict management and resolution skills.
