Job Functions
- Administer and organize the Kitting and Kanban processes to support efficient material flow.
- Oversee material handling activities throughout the Kitting and Kanban systems.
- Recommend and implement process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor and execute KPIs to assess assigned processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve material flow and inventory-related issues.
- Perform required system transactions accurately and timely.
- Coordinate shipping activities in accordance with established procedures, including preparing shipments and documentation.
- Monitor shipping schedules and coordinate pick-ups with freight carriers.
- Track, expedite, and resolve shipping discrepancies as needed.
- Receive and unload raw materials, products, and supplies manually and with material handling equipment.
- Verify incoming freight quality and documentation accuracy.
- Notify Quality Assurance when materials are ready for inspection and properly stock materials upon approval.
- Perform cycle counts and support inventory accuracy initiatives.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and assist with year-end physical inventories for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
- Handle damaged materials through the Non-Conforming Materials process.
- Handle expired materials through the Expired Materials process.
- Maintain clean, safe, and orderly work areas inside and outside the facility.
- Inspect and operate material handling equipment, ladders, and racking systems; report issues as needed.
- Perform limited general maintenance tasks and other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Material Handler.
- Forklift certification preferred.
- Previous experience operating a box truck preferred.
- Valid Class D or better Minnesota driver's license required.
- Personal vehicle required for periodic travel between company sites.
- Experience working with freight carriers and electronic shipping systems (e.g., UPS, USPS).
- Demonstrated knowledge of Kanban methodology; this role is considered a subject matter expert (SME) for Kanban processes.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement, waste reduction, and Kaizen methodologies.
- Experience with inventory management systems, including Kanban, safety stock, cycle counting, and material shortages.
- Knowledge of FIFO methodology and lot control practices.
- Experience handling raw materials, drug products, and combination products preferred.
- Experience handling temperature- and/or time-sensitive materials.
Estimated Min Rate: $19.00
Estimated Max Rate: $20.00
