Hiring for Buyer / Planner (Hybrid – Production Environment) in St Paul, Minnesota,

We are seeking an experienced Buyer/Planner to manage purchasing and production planning activities in a hybrid work environment. This role is responsible for procuring raw materials, sub-assemblies, and finished goods in alignment with approved purchase orders while ensuring optimal cost, quality, reliability, and timely delivery.

The ideal candidate will work independently with minimal supervision and play a key role in supporting global inventory levels and direct customer demand.

• Purchase raw materials, sub-assemblies, and finished goods in accordance with approved purchase orders
• Ensure procurement at the lowest total cost while maintaining quality, supplier reliability, and urgency requirements
• Conduct vendor negotiations and supplier performance analysis
• Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities
• Manage vendor relationships and resolve supply-related issues
• Expedite orders to meet production and customer deadlines
• Utilize purchasing systems to process and track procurement activities
• Support inventory management and ensure appropriate global stocking levels
• Allocate finished goods to support both global distribution and direct customer orders
• Collaborate cross-functionally with production, planning, and supply chain teams

• Minimum 5+ years of purchasing experience
• Experience in Buyer/Planner or production planning roles
• Strong understanding of procurement processes and inventory management
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

• Production planning experience (nice to have)
• Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered
• Bachelor’s degree required if converted to permanent employment
