Pilot Plant Technician – Injection Molding
OverviewAs a Pilot Plant Technician (Injection Molding), you will work with the Manufacturing Technology organization to develop products, processes, and technologies across the company and solve challenging manufacturing problems. You will tap into your curiosity and collaborate with innovative people worldwide.
Responsibilities- Join 3M’s Injection Molding team in the Manufacturing Technology organization, supporting product, process, and technology development and solving manufacturing challenges.
- Prepare and operate injection molding presses and auxiliary equipment for experimental, prototype, and production runs.
- Work directly with engineers and product developers, conducting molding trials independently.
- Locate defects or problems during the manufacturing process, make adjustments as needed, perform quality testing and visual inspections, interpret and provide feedback on quality results, and maintain proper documentation and reports.
- Advance site EHS and continuous improvement culture through implementation of improvement ideas and adherence to policies.
- High school diploma/GED or higher from an accredited institution.
- At least three (3) combined years of experience working in a manufacturing, pilot plant, or laboratory environment.
- At least one (1) combined year of experience with injection molding.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, problem solving skills, and ability to complete work independently.
- Willingness to be flexible with schedule; this day shift (6 AM to 2 PM) role may have opportunities for early start/late stop or alternate shift coverage.
Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
Work LocationOn‑site at the Building 76 Pilot Plant in Saint Paul, MN. Travel may include up to 5 % domestic. Relocation may be authorized.
CompensationThe expected compensation range for this position is $75,064 – $91,745, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. Additional benefits may include medical, dental & vision, health savings accounts, health care & dependent care flexible spending accounts, disability benefits, life insurance, voluntary benefits, paid absences, and retirement benefits.
