The Machine Operator is responsible for operating the Interlocked machine and for the set‑up, operation and maintenance of machinery that forms metal strip into hose of various diameters, thicknesses and construction. The operator may also process orders on the floor through various stages, including prepping, testing, finishing, shipping and/or receiving. This position is considered safety sensitive.

• React to change productively and handle essential tasks as assigned.
• Read and understand work instructions, sales orders, floor travelers, and/or prints.
• Adhere to quality and accuracy standards, using prints and inspection standards.
• Use a kiosk (computer) to locate and follow standard work procedures.
• Use tape measure, PI tape, calipers and micrometers appropriately.
• Load heavy metal strip coils onto machinery using forklift or other equipment.
• Set up and operate the machinery that forms metal strips into hose.
• Cut hose to length, perform spot welding and finish hose per order requirements.
• Pre‑prep hoses using cutting equipment, crimpers and hand tools.
• Test assemblies using air, water, gas, and Helium Mass Spec equipment.
• Finish assemblies using buffing, grinding, polishing, covering, tagging, painting and/or packaging per standards.
• Perform housekeeping in and around the facility to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Use forklift/tow motor to move shipments and material, load and unload stock trucks and machines, and change gas tanks.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to understand and follow English instructions.
• Ability to read and understand detailed work instructions and production documentation.
• Proficiency reading and using tape measure and PI tape, and learning to use micrometers.
• Strong math skills.

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
