Skilled CNC Machinist: Setup, Operate & Optimize Parts

Job Overview

Quality Tool is looking for an experienced CNC Machinist to set‑up and operate a variety of VMC’s, HMC’s, and lathes. This is a full‑time, skilled position located in Brookings, SD.

• Set up, adjust and operate machine tools including Haas, Makino, Miyano, Nakamura, and others, determining speeds & feeds and aligning and securing holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments & accessories.
• Sequence automatic machine operations and define setup requirements, select cutting tools, and program proper feeds and speeds to successfully machine parts.
• Identify optimal manufacturing processes based on part configuration and batch size.
• Inspect work, making necessary notations on work routers.
• Work involves a mix of small to medium quantity runs with frequent set‑ups.

• Two or more years minimum CNC Machining and Set‑up experience.
• Experience inspecting own parts using dimensional tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Familiarity with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, setting up, and operating CNC equipment.
• Good attendance, punctuality, and willingness to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team.
• Must be able to pass a drug test and background check.
