Wafer Fabrication Technician

This hands-on role focuses on operating, maintaining, and optimizing thin-film deposition and etch processes in a cleanroom environment. Location: Saint Paul, MN

Wage: $70,000 - $85,000 per year

Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 3:30 pm

Duties of the wafer fabrication technician:

• Operate and maintain semiconductor deposition equipment (evaporation, sputtering)
• Run and optimize etch processes, including RIE
• Develop and improve thin film deposition and etch recipes
• Monitor process data to ensure yield and quality control
• Troubleshoot equipment and process issues
• Support continuous improvement initiatives
• Maintain cleanroom standards and safety practices

Requirements of the wafer fabrication technician:

• Hands-on experience with deposition (evaporation/sputtering) and/or etching tools
• Understanding of process control and yield improvement
• Cleanroom experience preferred
• Familiarity with SPC, FMEA, or similar process improvement tools
• Knowledge of thin film materials and characterization techniques
