Spot Welder
This role focuses on performing precision spot welding on sheet metal and light-gauge materials in a clean, organized fabrication environment. You will set up and operate spot welding equipment, follow detailed blueprints and work instructions, and support related fabrication tasks to ensure high-quality hardware assemblies.
Responsibilities- Perform spot welding on sheet metal and light-gauge materials in accordance with work instructions, blueprints, and welding symbols.
- Set welding parameters on spot welding equipment and run existing programs to meet production and quality requirements.
- Load and unload sheet metal components onto welding equipment safely and efficiently.
- Make basic adjustments to welding equipment and programs to maintain proper weld quality and consistency.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and welding symbols to determine welding sequence, locations, and specifications.
- Assist with grinding and deburring operations as needed to produce clean, finished parts.
- Stack and organize sheet metal parts, typically ranging from 15 to 50 pounds, in a safe and orderly manner.
- Use tape measures and shop math to verify dimensions and tolerances during setup and inspection.
- Collaborate with team members in the hardware, press brake, turret, and quality areas, providing support where needed.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area within the hardware department.
- At least 6 months of experience operating spot welding equipment in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and welding symbols accurately.
- Proficiency in using a tape measure and understanding dimensional tolerances.
- Hands‑on sheet metal experience, including working with hardware and light-gauge materials.
- Ability to perform basic shop math to check measurements and confirm part specifications.
- Physical ability to stack and handle sheet metal parts weighing between 15 and 50 pounds.
- Willingness to assist in related tasks such as grinding and deburring.
- Ability to work effectively on a 2nd shift schedule (3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.).
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Haeger equipment or similar hardware insertion machines.
- Riveting experience in a sheet metal fabrication environment.
- Background operating punch press equipment.
- General fabrication experience within a metalworking or manufacturing setting.
- Strong attention to detail when working from blueprints and quality requirements.
- Comfort working near press brakes, turrets, and quality inspection areas.

This position is based in the hardware department, located adjacent to the press brakes, turrets, and quality department within a clean, organized shop. You will regularly work around sheet metal fabrication equipment and collaborate closely with quality and production teams. The role operates on a 2nd shift schedule from 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. The environment emphasizes accurate blueprint reading, flexibility to assist in other areas as needed, and adherence to established safety and quality standards.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Paul, MN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00–$24.00 per hour.
