Position Summary:As a Fabricator at Schwing America, you’ll play a key role in crafting steel and aluminum parts from detailed drawings using a variety of tools and equipment. If you thrive in a hands‑on environment and take pride in producing quality work, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:- Fabricate steel and aluminum components based on engineering drawings
- Operate and maintain equipment such as brakes, saws, radial drills, punch presses, and hand tools
- Set up and run saws and drills at proper speeds and feeds
- Program miters using the band saw
- Operate press brake with correct dies and determine bend lines/tooling using bend allowances
- Use grinders to deburr flame-cut parts
- Safely move materials and parts using forklifts and overhead cranes
- Operate barcode scanner/computer (SAP) to track labor time and pick materials
- Inspect completed units to ensure they meet quality and dimensional specifications
- Handle and dispose of hazardous waste in accordance with company guidelines
- Support maintenance and troubleshooting efforts as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience using fabrication equipment
- Proficient in using saws, brakes, punch presses, drills, and hand tools
- Strong understanding of geometric measurements and fabrication math
- Familiarity with sheet metal, tubing, piping, and structural shapes (angle, channels, bar, etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and instructions
- Skilled in using material handling equipment, including forklifts and overhead cranes (2+ years preferred)
- Computer literacy for referencing work instructions and tracking labor
- Strong problem‑solving and communication skills
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds as needed
