Salary Range: $27.00 To $30.00 Hourly
Under general supervision, the Equipment Painter is responsible for preparing, priming, and painting company products using conventional and advanced spray equipment. This position ensures all painted products meet company quality standards while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
- Review painting requirements and work instructions with the Lead Painter to understand job expectations and production priorities.
- Prepare, prime, and paint trailers, components, and equipment to company quality standards.
- Mix paints and coatings according to manufacturer specifications, ensuring proper consistency and viscosity.
- Operate and maintain conventional, airless, air-assisted airless, and plural component spray systems.
- Inspect painted surfaces throughout the painting process and make equipment adjustments as necessary to ensure proper coverage and finish quality.
- Load, move, and position parts and equipment using forklifts, hand trucks, and other material-handling equipment.
- Clean, repair, and maintain spray guns, paint pumps, booths, filters, and related equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance on painting equipment.
- Maintain paint booth cleanliness and a safe work environment.
- Assist in training and providing guidance to less experienced employees as needed.
- Follow all environmental, hazardous waste, and safety procedures.
- Complete additional duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 5 years of industrial, heavy equipment, automotive, or commercial painting experience.
- Experience operating spray equipment, paint systems, and surface preparation tools.
- Bodywork and paint repair experience preferred.
- Forklift experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to read work instructions and use computer systems to track labor and production activities.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Work is performed primarily in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Must be able to wear a respirator and maintain annual respirator certification.
- Ability to stand, bend, reach, and work around paint, solvents, dust, and fumes throughout the shift.
