Job Description
Essential functions include working proficiently to deliver on or ahead of schedule, assisting the engineering team with device design and development, assembling prototype components, subassemblies and assemblies, developing and executing tests for new design concepts, recording build data in laboratory notebooks, developing fixtures and tooling for manufacturing and process improvements, reviewing and improving manufacturing instructions, maintaining detailed documentation through all phases of development, testing and analysis, and assisting in the transfer of technology.
ResponsibilitiesCompetencies include medical device manufacturing processes and understanding of good manufacturing and documentation processes.
Physical demands and work environment include repetitive motions, constant use of wrists, hands, and fingers, ability to remain in stationary positions, occasional walking and climbing, and visual acuity for detailed tasks.
Work environment includes exposure to manufacturing areas and development labs requiring personal protective equipment.
QualificationsQualifications include an AA degree or equivalent work experience in related discipline and 3 years of related experience in the medical device industry, working knowledge of engineering principles, experience with welding and other techniques, critical thinking and problem solving ability, proficiency with Microsoft desktop environment and software like Solid Works and Minitab, good written and verbal communication skills, and basic anatomy and product use are encouraged.
