Production Manager
St. Paul, MN | Direct Hire | $95,000–$120,000 | 100% Onsite

Konik is partnering with a well-respected metal fabrication company seeking a hands-on Production Manager to lead and oversee all manufacturing and fabrication operations. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with deep experience in metal fabrication processes, welding, and shop operations who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Production Manager Responsibilities
  • Manage all aspects of the metal fabrication shop, including scheduling, workflow, quality control, and on-time delivery.
  • Lead, mentor, and hold shop and shipping personnel accountable while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Visualize solutions for production challenges and communicate plans effectively to team members.
  • Develop, monitor, and improve processes related to scrap reduction, labor utilization, machine efficiency, and cost savings.
  • Ensure all personnel are trained and competent in required operations, including safety protocols and maintenance procedures.
  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, and design teams to review CAD drawings, assess manufacturability, and support accurate project estimations.
  • Maintain machinery, tooling, and shop equipment in full operating condition to meet production demands.
  • Lead preventative maintenance, safety committee meetings, and reporting to senior management.
Production Manager Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of hands‑on production management experience in a metal fabrication environment.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, welding techniques, and metal fabrication equipment.
  • Experience reading and interpreting CAD drawings and blueprints.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage direct reports, production capacity, and cross‑functional teams.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, problem‑solving skills, and organizational capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a “can‑do” attitude.
  • Familiarity with roll bending is a plus.
