Position: MEDICAL ASSEMBLER - $19/HR $19.53/HR - ASAP

Medical Assembler

This role focuses on assembling precision medical components in both cleanroom and non-cleanroom environments. You will work with very small parts, specialized equipment, and microscopes to build and inspect components used in medical products such as stents, catheters, leads, and implantable devices. The position involves rotating through multiple production areas, following detailed written work instructions, and consistently applying strong hand dexterity and attention to detail.

You will sit and stand for extended periods, use a variety of small hand tools and machines, and contribute directly to the production of high-quality medical devices.

Responsibilities
  • Perform coil winding operations in a cleanroom environment by setting up and operating coil winding machines, placing coils on mechanisms, and winding them around spindles for use in later assembly processes.
  • Gown properly for cleanroom work, including wearing a smock, booties, hair net, beard net if applicable, and safety glasses before entering designated areas.
  • Rotate between standing and sitting tasks in the coiling area, including working at stations that may require standing for up to 8 hours and sitting for extended periods, depending on the specific process.
  • Use microscopes approximately 30–50% of the day in the coiling area to inspect, cut, and manipulate fine wires and coils as needed.
  • Inspect and handle coils that will be used to produce medical components such as stents, catheters, leads, and other small medical parts, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Transition, once trained (typically within 1–2 weeks), into additional cleanroom assembly areas to support multiple stages of the medical assembly process.
  • Work in the molding area by sitting at tables connected to molding machines, inspecting parts as they come off the machines, and deburring and smoothing parts to remove excess material or metal.
  • Use small hand tools such as pliers, files, and knives throughout the day to clean, deburr, and finish molded parts in a repetitive, detail-oriented process.
  • Perform CEA assembly operations on multiple lines (1–6) in the cleanroom, each producing specific components for different medical products.
  • Sit for 6–8 hours per day in CEA assembly areas while working extensively with microscopes, using them for approximately 60% of the shift to assemble and inspect small components.
  • Follow travelers and written work instructions carefully to complete assemblies, using small hand tools such as tweezers, pliers, files, and small wrenches both under microscopes and without them.
  • Support laser welding operations in the cleanroom once cross-trained, operating laser welding machines and using microscopes throughout the day to weld and finish very small medical components.
  • Apply high attention to detail and strong hand dexterity when performing laser welding tasks, ensuring precise and consistent welds on delicate components.
  • Alternate between sitting and standing during laser welding processes, adapting to the needs of each specific task or station.
  • Work in the implantable housings area (non-cleanroom) by operating automated presses and stamping machines that punch and form small metal parts and components.
  • Load materials into presses and stamping machines, monitor the processes, and safely remove finished parts from the machines once cycles are complete.
  • Inspect stamped and pressed parts to ensure they meet specifications, identifying defects and performing deburring and filing to remove excess material when necessary.
  • Use microscopes as needed in the housings area, potentially up to 50% of the day, to inspect and deburr small parts accurately.
  • Alternate between standing for up to 8 hours and sitting for extended periods in the housings area, depending on daily production needs.
  • Perform basic overall duties such as working with microscopes, using machines to aid assemblies, and handling parts approximately the size of a pen tip with care and precision.
