The SELF Loan Marketing Manager creates and owns all marketing and communications strategies and execution for the suite of SELF Loan Programs, SELF Student Success Programs, and other Minnesota Office of Higher Education (OHE) programs as assigned. This position develops comprehensive, data‑driven marketing plans and oversees paid and organic digital campaigns, website and social media strategy, direct mail, email marketing, and CRM initiatives, event promotion, and creative development, partnering with internal teams and external vendors.

The incumbent has an entrepreneurial mindset and independently implements and evaluates integrated campaigns to increase program awareness, strengthen stakeholder engagement, and drive statewide participation. Through strategic planning, analytics and performance reporting, budget management, and cross‑agency collaboration, this role ensures initiatives advance OHE’s mission and support equitable outreach to traditionally underserved communities.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Four (4) years experience developing, executing and analyzing a complex organization's marketing efforts. A degree is not required, having any of the degrees below will count toward the necessary months of experience:
    • Master's Degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, business, public administration, or other related field will count toward 18 months experience.
    • Bachelor's Degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, business, public administration, or other related field will count toward 12 months experience.
    • Associate's Degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, business, public administration, or other related field will count toward 6 months experience.
  • Three (3) years experience in implementing effective digital marketing campaigns via social media (Facebook, Instagram, Linked In, You Tube, Twitter, etc.), emails, and newsletters on behalf of an organization.
  • Ability to plan, develop, and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a collaborative setting.
  • Advanced skills with communications tools like Microsoft Office, Google Analytics, Google Advertising, CMS, and email marketing platforms.
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in diverse communities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One (1) year experience in student loan marketing.
  • One (1) year supervisor experience.

    Prepare reports and presentations for leadership of current marketing efforts and the success of those efforts.
  • Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, business, public administration, or other related field.
  • Five (5) years experience with hands‑on marketing campaign and project creation, management, budgeting, and execution.
  • Experience making documents accessible.
  • Event planning experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to position self and move sufficiently to perform repetitive tasks.
  • Maintain a stationary position for long periods of time.
  • Ability to carry up to 25 pounds of weight on an infrequent basis.
