Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced communications professional to join a dynamic marketing team supporting a portfolio of energy efficiency programs. This role is central to developing compelling, audience-appropriate content across a wide range of channels and materials — from promotional copy and program bulletins to digital and print marketing assets. The ideal candidate brings a strong editorial instinct, a collaborative spirit, and the organizational discipline to manage multiple concurrent projects with competing deadlines.

Responsibilities
  • Develop concepts and write clear, engaging copy for a wide variety of marketing and communications projects, including articles, bulletins, and promotional materials
  • Consult with marketing representatives and subject matter experts to gather project requirements, including tone, style, audience, and length of copy
  • Manage incoming project requests through Microsoft Planner, coordinating directly with internal customers to clarify scope and expectations
  • Translate project briefs into polished, on-brand copy and prepare final content in Adobe tools for submission to the design team
  • Serve as a key point of contact for the design team, answering questions and providing guidance throughout the production process
  • Proof and review all materials to ensure they meet established quality, brand, and compliance standards before final delivery
  • Edit and rewrite copy quickly in response to feedback, revisions, or changing requirements
  • Demonstrate creativity and the ability to adapt language, voice, and tone based on audience, product, and communication channel
  • Write accurately and clearly about quantitative program information, including energy savings figures, rebate amounts, and related program benefits
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines without sacrificing quality
  • Participate in weekly team meetings and contribute to a collaborative, solutions-oriented team culture
Skills
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a strong command of grammar, style, and tone
  • Ability to vary voice and messaging effectively across audiences, products, and communication mediums
  • Comfort working with numerical data and translating figures into clear, reader-friendly copy
  • Familiarity with basic marketing communications metrics and success indicators across channels such as email, digital, and print
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage competing deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, Planner, and Tasks
  • Working knowledge of Adobe tools as used in a marketing production environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with internal clients and cross-functional teams
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering polished, standards-compliant materials
Experience
  • 5 to 10 years of professional experience in communications, copywriting, content development, or a closely related field
  • Demonstrated experience developing content for marketing or communications programs, not limited to business or administrative communications roles
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Prior experience working within a structured content review and production workflow is strongly preferred
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field required

This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned communications professional to do meaningful, high-impact work supporting energy efficiency programs that benefit real customers and communities. You will have the creative latitude to shape how important program information is communicated, the variety of working across multiple products and channels, and the stability of a structured team environment with flexible scheduling. If you are a skilled writer who thrives on collaboration, takes pride in quality, and wants your work to matter, this role offers exactly that.
