The Youth Development Program Success Coordinator VISTA will build organizational capacity by developing our first year of improved training materials, program quality assessment tools, implementation guides, observation resources, and standardized workflows that staff can continue using after the VISTA service year concludes. The VISTA will assess existing training practices, identify opportunities for improvement, and create evergreen resources that support youth programming staff and/or volunteer onboarding, professional development, program planning, and continuous quality improvement.
Throughout the service year, the VISTA will:
- Collaborate with VISTAs and TSF staff to develop and/or update evergreen onboarding and professional development materials that provide consistent guidance for youth development staff and long-term skills-based volunteers.
- Develop standard templates, facilitation guides, training toolkits, and resource libraries to empower staff, while creating consistent evaluation rubrics and continuous improvement frameworks that equip supervisors to sustain high-quality youth programming.
- Create an outline of needed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), workflow documentation, and implementation guides for youth programming staff.
- Collaborate with other VISTAs and TSF outreach teams to co-develop, pilot, and refine service quality and outreach toolkits that support staff in communicating program opportunities with youth, families, community partners, and volunteers.
- Compile all training materials, quality assessment resources, workflows, and implementation guidance into a comprehensive sustainability manual outline and directive for building out during and after the VISTA service year.
The Youth Development Program Success Coordinator VISTA will strengthen The Sanneh Foundation’s capacity by developing and piloting sustainable youth worker training systems, program quality resources, and evaluation tools that support staff delivering youth programming at Conway Community Center and partner sites across the Twin Cities metro. Throughout the service year, the VISTA will develop training curricula, quality assessment rubrics, program planning templates, observation tools, SOP recommendations, implementation guides, and sustainability documentation to improve program consistency and staff support.
By strengthening onboarding, training, and retention systems for staff and volunteers, this project will increase TSF’s long-term capacity to serve low-income youth and families.
