Community Support Volunteer
The Community Support Volunteer supports Goodwill-Easter Seals Minnesota (GESMN) by raising awareness, supporting our mission, and strengthening our impact in the community. Community Support Volunteer opportunities occur on a rolling basis and may include the responsibilities outlined below, all performed under the direction and supervision of GESMN staff.
Schedule & Time Commitment
- Once approved to volunteer, Program Support Volunteers self-schedule their shifts based on organizational needs and volunteer preference.
- Shifts may occur in-person or virtually, based on program needs.
- Shifts typically span 2-4 hours depending on scheduling preferences.
Volunteer Responsibilities
- Event Support
- Support event setup, activities, guest registration, way finding, hospitality, and event clean-up.
- Welcome and assist participants, provide event information, and help create a positive experience for all attendees.
- Civic Engagement
- Assist eligible community members with electronic voter registration and provide accurate, nonpartisan information about registration requirements and election resources.
- Other Duties
- Responsible for being familiar with and adhering to GESMN's code of ethics, volunteer policies, and role-specific safety procedures set forth by Human Resources and GESMN executive team.
- Serve as an ambassador for GESMN by supporting the organization's mission, vision, and values.

- Strong communication skills.
- Understand how to create welcoming experiences for people of varying backgrounds and experience levels.
- Welcome orientation required either in-person or virtual before first shift.
- Training required in-person and virtual before first shift.
