Jewish Community Action seeks an energetic and dedicated Communications Manager to tell our organization's story across a multigenerational audience. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to build engaging and accessible narratives focused on community organizing.
About JCAJewish Community Action is a 30 year old membership-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that organizes the Minnesota Jewish community for racial and economic justice. We work in solidarity with other marginalized communities throughout our state in coalition spaces, interfaith initiatives, and local groups. These relationships drive our investment in and accountability to each other. Job Duties and Responsibilities- Collaborate with organizing staff to develop unified messaging, materials, and digital content for existing campaigns and partnerships, including managing and generating content for existing websites and social media channels.
- Proactively build, cultivate, and manage strong relationships; establish a dynamic outreach strategy including press releases, media advisories, and pitches to secure broad public coverage.
- Create all graphic design for organization; contract with graphic designers as needed.
- Support communications for fundraising campaigns and special events.
- Participate in communications strategy teams for JCA partnerships and coalitions.
- Coordinate annual report production in partnership with the Director of Finance and Operations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Strong writing ability, for print, electronic and social media.
- An interest in and commitment to building power for racial and economic justice.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects; self-motivated.
- Team oriented, ability to work with diverse groups.
- Basic graphic design skills (Canva and Adobe suite).
- Knowledge of basic computer tools including Google Suite, internet research, and database use.
- Video creation and editing skills.
- Experience with an online CRM database for member management (we use Every Action).
- Previous fundraising experience
- Familiarity with Jewish culture
- This position is full time exempt, with some evening and weekend work, covered by a collective bargaining agreement with OPEIU Local 12.
- This is a hybrid position, with at least one day a week based in JCA’s St. Paul office.
- Generous PTO benefits, including paid sick, vacation time, and Jewish holidays.
- This is a full-time position with an annual salary range of $50,000 - $60,000 commensurate with experience, plus a $10,000 health benefit allowance.
