Donor Relations & Development Associate

Juvenile Justice Advocates International (JJAI) is a Twin Cities-based international nonprofit working to improve juvenile justice systems and strengthen support for young people and families, with significant work in Latin America.

We are looking for an outgoing, bilingual English/Spanish relationship-builder to help grow and strengthen our community of donors and supporters.

This is a people-first role
. You will connect with donors and supporters, build relationships, follow up consistently, help re-engage past supporters, and identify new people and opportunities to grow JJAI's community.

You do not need to already be a professional fundraiser. We are looking first for someone who genuinely enjoys connecting with people, takes initiative, stays organized, and follows through. Experience in community engagement, outreach, organizing, events, membership, hospitality, sales, customer relations, or other people-facing work can translate very well to this position.

• Build and maintain relationships with donors and supporters through phone, email, video, and in-person meetings
• Re-engage past donors and strengthen relationships with current supporters
• Conduct consistent outreach and follow-up
• Identify prospective donors, community connectors, and partnership opportunities
• Track conversations, outreach, and next steps in donor-management systems
• Support donor communications and stewardship
• Help organize small donor events and gatherings
• Represent JJAI in community-facing settings with warmth and professionalism

Permanent, part-time position
Approximately 20 hours per week
$26-$30/hour, depending on experience
Primarily remote, but must be based in the Twin Cities metropolitan area
Occasional in-person donor meetings, events, and community activities

• Strong spoken and written English and Spanish communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills and comfort initiating conversations and building relationships
• Highly organized with strong follow-through
• Self-directed and comfortable taking initiative in a primarily remote environment
• Ability to manage multiple relationships, conversations, and priorities
• Interest in nonprofit, international, advocacy, or mission-driven work
• Must be based in the Twin Cities metropolitan area and available for occasional in-person meetings and events

• Fundraising, development, donor relations, or donor stewardship experience
• Community engagement, outreach, organizing, events, membership, hospitality, sales, customer relations, or other people-facing experience
• Experience working across cultures and communities
• Experience with CRMs, donor databases, Airtable, or similar systems
• Familiarity with the Twin Cities community
