• Our system wide team includes approximately 100 highly trained oncology providers - that span surgical oncology specialties, medical oncology, radiation oncology and supportive/affiliated oncology specialties.

• Accredited by ACS, CoC, NAPBC, and APEx in support of oncology quality, excellence, and stewardship.

• This is a full-time position located at the Allina Health Cancer Institute in St. Paul, MN.
• The work schedule is Monday through Friday.
• You will be working alongside a collaborative team that includes Hematologists/Oncologists, Advanced Practice Providers, and various support services.
• In this role, you will have the opportunity to support patients with solid tumors as well as hematology patients.
• Your responsibilities will include seeing patients in the clinic, in the hospital and covering the infusion center.
• Potential for future weekend rounding.

Provides help with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments and consultations as part of a physician/nurse team in accordance with the designated specialty. Works in both inpatient and outpatient situations and can perform independently or as part of a treatment team. Serves as an educator, case manager, consultant to staff and multidisciplinary health care team.

• Provides clinical care for patients
  • Completes comprehensive patient assessments.
  • Determines diagnosis and treatment of illness.
  • Orders and interprets medical diagnostics in tandem with attending physician.
  • Prescribes medications, treatments, therapy and medical equipment.
  • Conducts patient education when working to manage chronic illness or wellness care.
  • Refers for specialty care when determined.
  • Consults with physician when patient needs outside of Nurse Practitioner scope of practice, diagnosis or treatment plan is unclear.
• Participates in health care team
  • Promotes communication within the team and other interdisciplinary health care staff.
  • Acts as resource to members of the team.
  • Works with primary care team for program development.
  • Acts as liaison with outside agencies as needed.
  • Collaborates with hospital staff by consulting and rounding on patients if designated by the specialty.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Master's degree
  - Completion of accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program required.

• New Graduates may be considered. Prefer a minimum of 2 years of experience in Oncology and Hematology.

• Licensed Registered Nurse - MN Board of Nursing required upon hire (NP)
• Certified Nurse Practitioner - MN Board of Nursing license required upon hire or Certified Physician Assistant - MN PA Medical license required upon hire.
• Certified Nurse Practitioner
  - American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) certification within specialty or Certified Physician Assistant - NCCPA
  - National Commission Certification of Physician Assistants within specialty upon hire required.
• BLS
  - Multisource required within 180 Days
• Drug Enforcement Administration required upon hire

• Medium Work*
• Lifting weight up to 32 lbs. occasionally (Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), up to 25 lbs. frequently

Pay Range: $135,096 to $164,216 per year. The pay described reflects the starting base pay range, assuming a full-time FTE. Your starting rate will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable).
