Regions Hospital is looking to hire an exceptional, patient focused Registered Nurse to join our Cardiac Medicine/Progressive Care Unit and make a difference for our patients and our community. We are known for saving lives in our Level I Trauma Center, and our nursing staff are key to the exceptional care we provide each patient. Our patient population on South 8 includes patients requiring general medicine or progressive level of care.
We care for patients with complex medical needs and co-morbidities, including CHF, NSTEMI, chest pain, coronary artery disease, post‑intervention sheath management, COPD, pneumonia or other cardio‑respiratory problems, End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD), peritoneal dialysis, liver failure, alcohol withdrawal and/or other intoxicants and much more! It’s a great place to learn a wide variety of disease processes and broaden clinical assessment skills.
Our unit has a high number of daily admissions, discharges and transfers. South 8 also houses the remote telemetry cockpit which is staffed by specially trained PCAs who learn cardiac rhythm interpretation. Our Professional Nursing Practice Model offers patient and family‑centered care that maintains an unwavering focus on what matters most: caring and healing at the patient’s bedside. As a nursing professional you will be empowered to manage your clinical practice and working environment through our Shared Governance Model, which focuses on evidence‑based nursing practice.
Regions Hospital supports nurses with an individualized orientation including Transition to Regions Hospital Practice program which is a nurse residency structured program to support learning, role transition, and retention of nurses. All new hire registered nurses at Regions Hospital will be automatically enrolled. Our award‑winning programs give our patients and their families a place of comfort and healing. Schedule
0.70 Nights. 8 hour shifts during the week; 12 hour shifts every 3rd weekend.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree or Associate Degree in Nursing and 1 year of RN experience
- Internal new graduate applicants can meet minimum requirements with an Associate Degree in Nursing
- Licensed as a registered nurse by the State of Minnesota
- CPR for the professional rescuer or BLS for healthcare providers
- Must have exceptional interpersonal skills and strong ability to work with a wide range of patients from varied cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
- BSN/MSN strongly preferred and generally expected that BSN/MSN is obtained within 5 years of hire
- One year of acute care RN experience is preferred
