Department Overview
Our St. Paul 5th floor is a 26-bed pediatric medical/surgical unit that cares for a spectrum of children from infants to young adults suffering from both acute and chronic medical conditions. Our team of dedicated professionals specializes in the care of patients with diabetes, general medical/surgical care, and children in acute behavioral health crisis. Our patients have an average length of stay ranging from overnight to several days for a specialty diagnosis.
Patients are cared for by strong inter-disciplinary teams that include child life, music therapy, social work, dietitians, case managers, and other specialists. Our team prides itself on teamwork, quality care, open and respectful communication, and promotes a culture of safety while also encouraging learning and professional growth. Our team is committed to providing excellent care to our patients and families every day and loves the populations we serve.
Summary
Provides safe patient care as delegated by licensed nursing staff and maintains equipment and supplies per unit standard.
Qualifications- Completed a nursing assistant course or equivalent experience, or completed a nursing or health care related clinical practicum course.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- One year of previous Nursing Assistant experience or equivalent experience preferred.
- Proficient communication, critical thinking, and prioritization skills required.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak effectively in English to perform functions of the position.
- Skills in basic computer operation.

The salary is determined by factors including market indicators, skills, education, training, credentials, experience, internal equity and organizational needs. In addition to your salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits.
Positions that require night, weekend or on-call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
