Key Position Details
  • 1.0 FTE (80 hours per two-week pay period)
  • 8-hour day shifts
  • No weekends
Responsibilities
  • Manages one or more defined areas of patient care services using available resources to ensure the delivery of efficient, safe, and compassionate patient care based on current standards of practice.
  • Provides leadership to, and is accountable for, nursing practice in all areas of responsibility.
  • Fosters a culture of accountability, excellence and staff participation/engagement supported by processes that provide timely information regarding performance and department-specific activities and accomplishments.
  • Coordinates activities between defined areas and provides clinical and administrative leadership and expertise and serves as a link between nursing personnel and other healthcare disciplines and staff throughout the organization.
  • Implements the organization s mission, vision, values, code of conduct, evidence-based practice, and nursing practice within defined areas; creates a learning environment that is open, respectful, and promotes sharing of expertise to improve health outcomes.
  • Strategic Management:
    Develops and oversees department/program alignment with organizational goals; plans and implements short- and long-range programs in collaboration with physician leadership and other medical staff.
  • Clinical Practice Knowledge:
    Maintains standards of practice, develops and implements policies and procedures, and participates in evaluation and integration of health care technology and information systems.
  • Performance Improvement – Safety, Risk and Regulatory:
    Uses process improvement to enhance service quality, ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements, and maintains a culture of safety.
  • Leadership of Nursing Staff:
    Leads recruitment, onboarding, coaching, mentoring, and performance management; sets expectations and allocates workload; manages labor relationships; acts as a patient advocate with ethical and legal considerations.
  • Financial Management:
    Develops and monitors an annual budget, ensures productive use of staff, supplies, and capital equipment, and plans for resource management and capital needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Required:

    Bachelor s degree in nursing
  • Required:

    3 to 7 years of clinical experience
  • Preferred:
    Master s degree
  • Preferred: 2 to 5 years of leadership experience
  • Licenses/Certifications:

    Registered Nurse license for MN or WI as applicable
  • Certifications:

    Current BLS (American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or in-house) or equivalent
  • Professional certification:
    American Nurse Credentialing Center preferred
Physical Demands

Medium work:
Lifting up to 32 lbs occasionally (per Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), up to 25 lbs frequently.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay Range: $58.75 to $81.29 per hour. Starting rate based on experience and education. Additional incentives may be available (bonuses, goal-based bonuses, and other financial incentives).
