Clinical Support Associate - 6th Floor

Department Overview

Our St. Paul 6th floor is a 26-bed pediatric medical/surgical unit that cares for a spectrum of children from infants to young adults suffering from both acute and chronic medical conditions. Our team specializes in the care of patients with diabetes, respiratory conditions and surgical post‑operative care with a specialty in urological surgery. We also provide medical stabilization to children with eating disorders through the Center for the Treatment of Eating Disorders within our 6th floor unit.

Patients have an average length of stay ranging from days to several weeks for a specialty diagnosis. Care is delivered by inter‑disciplinary teams that include child life, social work, integrative medicine, dietitians, case managers and other specialists. We rely on teamwork, open communication, and a culture that encourages learning and professional growth. Our team is committed to excellent care for patients and families.

Provides safe patient care as delegated by licensed nursing staff and maintains equipment and supplies per unit standard.

Completed a nursing assistant course or equivalent experience, or completed a nursing or health care related clinical practicum course. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• One year of previous Nursing Assistant experience or equivalent experience preferred.

• Proficient communication, critical thinking, and prioritization skills required.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak effectively in English to perform functions of the position.
• Skills in basic computer operation.

The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. Annual salaries displayed are based on full‑time employment (40 standard hours per week). Annual salaries for part‑time positions will be prorated based on the employee’s scheduled weekly hours in relation to the full‑time standard. When determining individual pay rates, we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, internal equity and organizational needs.

In addition to your salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night, weekend or on‑call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
