Position OverviewOur client is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to provide Occupational Medicine and Urgent Care services throughout the St. Paul market. This provider will evaluate and treat both scheduled and walk-in patients in a fast-paced outpatient setting while supporting employers, workers' compensation cases, and urgent care populations.
The ideal candidate is comfortable practicing independently, performing office-based procedures, and traveling between clinic locations to ensure exceptional patient care coverage.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose and treat occupational injuries and illnesses.
- Evaluate and manage urgent care patients on a walk-in basis.
- Conduct occupational health examinations, including:
- DOT Physicals
- Pre-Employment/Pre-Placement Physicals
- Public Safety Physicals
- Surveillance Examinations
- Perform office-based procedures, including suturing and minor injury care.
- Develop treatment plans and determine return-to-work status.
- Communicate medical findings and work restrictions with employer clients.
- Provide occupational medicine recommendations and guidance.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation.
- Deliver outstanding patient experiences aligned with organizational service standards.
- Active, unrestricted NP license
- Certification through an appropriate professional organization
- Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Ability to practice autonomously
- Experience performing office-based procedures, including suturing
- DOT Medical Examiner Certification required prior to start
- Active, unrestricted PA license
- Certification through an appropriate professional organization
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Ability to practice autonomously
- Experience performing office-based procedures, including suturing
- DOT Medical Examiner Certification required prior to start
Occupational Medicine experience
Urgent Care experience
Office-based Procedural Skills (suturing Required)Ability to work independently and autonomously
Board Certified or Board Eligible in a primary care-related specialty
Preferred Qualifications- Experience treating workers' compensation injuries
- Experience performing DOT examinations
- Familiarity with employer health services and return-to-work programs
- Occupational Medicine clinic experience
- Urgent Care clinic experience
- Multi-site coverage experience
- Outpatient Occupational Medicine and Urgent Care clinics
- Mix of scheduled appointments and walk-in patient volume
