American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a 13-week travel assignment requiring MN licensure, ACLS/BLS/NIHSS/TNCC certifications, and 2 years of specialty experience.
Details- Work in a combined Adult/Pediatric General Emergency Department within an acute care teaching hospital with Level 3 trauma designation
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Day shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM
- Required to work every third weekend
- No on-call responsibilities
- No floating required within scope, though float to affiliate hospitals nearby may occur
- No block scheduling accommodations available
- Uses Epic (Excellian) EMR
- Active MN RN license required (pending license accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Emergency Department specialty required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and TNCC
- Preferred certifications: ENPC and SANE
- Experience with care of ventilated respiratory patients preferred
- Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and triage required
- ICU experience preferred
- ED boarding experience required
- Documents required for consideration: date of birth, SSN, copy of certifications, Nursys verification, and RTO dates
- At least one supervisor reference required
- Provide emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population
- Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, EKG interpretation, IV therapy, and patient triage
- Navy blue scrub color required
- Pre-start modules are required and must be completed prior to assignment start
- Candidates must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered
- Fingerprinting via Live Scan is required as a Minnesota state background check requirement, with no exceptions
- Candidates not near a Live Scan location must travel to complete this requirement
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Previous travel experience is not required
- Returning staff must have been separated from perm employment (staff or per diem) for at least 3 months before starting a travel assignment
- RTO should ideally be no more than 5 days
- References are not provided by the facility to travelers post-assignment or to former perm employees
