We are currently hiring a Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing services team and help ensure exceptional, resident-centered care. This role provides leadership and oversight of nursing operations, staff development, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and clinical standards.
Pay & Schedule Full-Time, Day Shift Salary: $100,000–$135,000/year, DOECentralized staffing support is in place to manage scheduling and staffing needs, allowing the DON to focus on clinical leadership, staff development, quality of care, and overall nursing operations.
This role also provides evening and weekend triage support as needed.
What You’ll DoLead and oversee the day-to-day operations of the nursing department.
Ensure residents receive high-quality care that meets state and federal regulations and established standards of practice.
Develop, implement, and maintain nursing policies, procedures, and standards of care.
Provide leadership, guidance, and support to licensed and unlicensed nursing staff.
Conduct regular rounds to monitor resident care, staffing needs, and nursing operations.
Oversee nursing staffing levels and schedules to ensure appropriate coverage.
Coach, counsel, and support staff performance and professional development.
Conduct competency assessments and address performance concerns when needed.
Ensure nursing staff maintain required licenses, certifications, continuing education, and mandatory training.
Oversee nursing orientation, in-service training, and ongoing staff education.
Lead nursing Quality Assurance activities and identify opportunities for continued improvement.
Participate in regulatory surveys, inspections, and compliance activities.
Serve on facility committees including Infection Control, Safety, and Quality Assurance.
Collaborate with the Executive Director, department leaders, social services, admissions, and other interdisciplinary team members.
Participate in resident admission decisions and provide clinical guidance regarding resident care needs.
Assist with recruiting and selecting nursing team members in partnership with Human Resources.
Support leadership development and succession planning within the nursing department.
Assist with developing and managing the nursing department budget and monitor department expenses.
Ensure infection prevention and control policies and procedures are consistently followed.
Build positive relationships with residents and families and participate in programs that support resident and family satisfaction.
Maintain a positive, supportive team environment focused on resident care, accountability, and collaboration.
What We’re Looking For Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
Minimum of 2 years of nursing administration experience in long-term care or a healthcare setting.
Strong leadership and team-building skills.
Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing long-term care.
Strong clinical judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Ability to coach, develop, and hold team members accountable.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Experience with budgeting and department operations.
Ability to work collaboratively with residents, families, staff, and interdisciplinary teams.
Comfortable working with electronic health records (EHR) and other healthcare technology.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and facility needs.
