The Impact You'll Make in this Role
As a Laboratory Technician you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Supporting R&D laboratory with product testing. Responsibilities include prioritizing, scheduling, sample preparation, and conducting tests in alignment with R&D team.
- May test or make visual observations on product samples from competitors and communicate test results to the appropriate requester.
- May assist in the development and modification of test methods and apparatus for new products and processes.
- Assist and train new personnel on basic principles, equipment, and procedures in laboratories.
- Laboratory asset management and equipment compliance and calibration leader. Responsible for inspection, checks, and record keeping.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start).
- Minimum of five (5) years of technician experience.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Experience working in a 3M laboratory.
- Experience conducting test methods for adhesion, shear strength, holding power, 5-bond, tensile & elongation, and others as required.
- Solid interpersonal and communication skills, both written & oral.
- Proven ability to analyze, problem-solve, and implement solutions.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Strong organizational skills, self-motivated and results driven.
- Solid hands-on mechanical skillset with knowledge of automated systems.
- Self-starter who takes initiative in their work.
