Job Summary
The Quality Engineer leads development activities, including supporting part validation, qualification, and sustaining programs in a high pace manufacturing environment. Performs routine and random checks of products and processes. Identifies and drives continuous improvement efforts to improve overall quality.
What you'll do...
- Identify opportunities for improvement and perform root cause analysis and corrective actions to improve overall quality.
- Collects and evaluates production samples, ensuring that materials and products meet acceptable quality standards.
- Maintains and analyzes records of test results, defects identified, and other key metrics.
- Drafts and maintains standard operating procedures, manuals, and documentation for the manufacturing, quality and business processes.
- Monitors and periodically reports on production quality, nonconformance, trends, and root causes of defects in products or processes.
- Participate in internal audits, prepare documentation and evidence for audits reports and drives resolution of audit findings.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Engineering or Science related field required.
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience required.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001.
- Advance knowledge of statistics, including capability studies and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Ability to read and interpret dimensional prints, specifications, and standards.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Supplier Quality experience preferred.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in written form with individuals and cross functional teams.
- Effective time management skills.
- Detail oriented, organized and ability to work independently.
- Experience with championing and/or deploying quality continuous improvement methodologies (e.g. DMAIC, PDCA, 8D, Lean, 6S).
- Advance knowledge of Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, Power Point), SharePoint knowledge preferred.

The employee is frequently required to use hands and fingers, sit, and reach with hands and arms.
The employee is frequently required to move a PC and other small office machinery. The employee must occasionally move between locations, and lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. The incumbent must be able to distinguish between different shades of colors. Mild red-green color defects may be acceptable, however, complete color blindness is disqualifying.
