Summary:
The Production Quality Inspector ensures that all manufacturing processes and products meet established quality standards. This role involves monitoring production operations, conducting inspections, verifying compliance with quality plans, and promptly addressing quality concerns to support overall product excellence and customer satisfaction.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.
Verify that the quality plan is correct, understandable, and actionable for operators and technicians.
Perform in-process and final inspections of products using measurement tools and established procedures.
Document and report inspection results and discrepancies in a timely and accurate manner.
Escalate questions, concerns, and updates related to the quality plan to appropriate stakeholders.
Facilitate quick resolutions to quality issues to minimize disruptions to production.
Contribute to reducing non-conformances (NCs), defective material reports (DMRs), and customer complaints.
Assist in updating inspection forms and maintaining quality records.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address root causes of quality issues and implement corrective actions.
Support training initiatives for operators and technicians on quality standards and practices.
Accountabilities:
Ensure all quality inspections are performed according to established procedures and standards.
Maintain accurate and organized documentation of inspection activities and results.
Proactively identify and address quality issues to prevent non-conformances.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and process efficiency.
Training/Education/Experience High School diploma or equivalent required; and associate degree or certification in quality assurance or a related field is preferred.
2+ years of experience in quality inspection or a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Experience in contract manufacturing, medical device production, or regulated industries is an asset.
Proficiency in quality inspection techniques, measurement tools, and software systems is required.
Competencies/Talents/Personal Attributes:
Strong attention to detail and ability to detect quality discrepancies.
Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and quality plans.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis and corrective action.
Familiarity with quality standards and methodologies (e.g., ISO 13485, GMP) is preferred.
Proficient in using quality inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
Basic computer skills, including experience with quality management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
