The Impact You'll Make in this Role
As a Product Quality Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Driving Quality tools in NPI to accelerate projects while mitigating risk by ensuring consumer needs are met, test methods are robust, specifications are well defined, and manufacturing processes are capable
- Supporting laboratory, products, processes, and systems such as addressing customer complaints and working with the team on corrective actions
- Supporting and interacting with customers and consumers through complaint investigations, resolution, and trending including monthly Quality Dashboard reports
- Troubleshooting, investigating, and analyzing for non-conforming product testing and disposition
- Driving existing product quality enhancement through use of continuous improvement methods and tools, such as:
Product and Process Understanding (PPU), Design of Experiments (DOE), Six Sigma and Quality at the Source - Ensuring commercialized product design intent and product integrity is retained as materials, processes, methods, and specifications change
- Supporting change as it relates to design changes inspired by quality improvement, source of supply changes, or cost reduction efforts
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
- Three (3) years of combined experience Quality Engineering, Supplier Management, Quality Management Systems, Six Sigma, Statistical Analysis and/or Design Control within a private, public, government, or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Master's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
- Experience working with ISO
9001:2015 - Experience working with suppliers in a quality improvement capacity
- Experience with statistical analysis
- Manufacturing experience
- ASQ certification
