Quality Technician Position Summary

The Quality Technician investigates returned complaint devices to determine failure modes and identify potential root causes. This role is responsible for conducting detailed product investigations, documenting findings, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support product quality and continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Purpose

The Quality Technician leads investigational efforts at the Arden Hills Post Market Complaint Investigation Site (CIS), with a primary focus on returned Capital Equipment (e.g., computer systems).

Responsibilities include reviewing returned device data, performing failure analyses, completing investigation documentation and coding, and ensuring conclusions are supported by testing results. This role partners with Design Quality, R&D, Supplier Management, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to support product investigations, risk assessment, and quality improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct independent failure analyses on returned complaint devices.
  • Investigate product failures to determine root cause and document findings.
  • Utilize BSC testing tools and investigative techniques to support complaint investigations.
  • Review manufacturing and product data to identify trends and failure patterns.
  • Complete investigation documentation, coding, and reports accurately.
  • Investigate and support resolution of Nonconforming Events (NCEPs) and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs).
  • Collaborate with Design Quality, R&D, Supplier Management, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to resolve product issues.
  • Escalate product quality issues as appropriate.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance investigation processes.
  • Support laboratory operations and continuous lab improvements.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of related experience in manufacturing, production, quality, or a technical environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree (AA) or equivalent work experience in a related field.
  • Experience using SAP, MES, or Track Wise.
  • Manufacturing or production experience is highly preferred.
  • 2–3 years of related experience in quality, manufacturing, production, or complaint investigations.
