+ Maintain a neat, organized, and accurate record system of daily work, including information needed for quality control tests and regulatory requirements.
+ Enter sample data into DQCI LIMS or Eurofins eLIMS systems, either manually or through automatic export, ensuring data integrity and completeness.
+ Verify sample information and testing results for accuracy prior to submission.
+ Submit results, either electronically or in hard copy, to the appropriate personnel for laboratory testing and reporting.
+ Understand, follow, and apply Quality System documents, including the Quality Manual, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Methods relevant to sample registration and handling.
+ Adhere to quality measures and procedures to meet or exceed ISO/IEC standards, government regulatory requirements, and internal company quality expectations.
+ Handle samples using proper aseptic techniques to prevent contamination and ensure reliable test results.
+ Perform routine cleaning of glassware, vials, and workstations to maintain a safe, orderly, and efficient work environment.
+ Support sample management, handling, preparation, receiving, and registration activities in a fast-paced setting.
+ Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate workflow, resolve issues, and maintain pace with sample volume.
+ Follow all laboratory safety guidelines and practices while working in the sample receiving area and, if trained, in the microbiology laboratory.
+ Demonstrate reliability and strong work ethic by consistently meeting attendance, performance, and quality expectations.
Essential Skills
+
Experience with sample management, including sample handling, preparation, receiving, and registration.
+ Proficiency in aseptic technique to ensure proper sample handling and prevent contamination.
+ Familiarity with microbiology concepts and laboratory practices.
+ Ability to work with laboratory information management systems (LIMS), including DQCI LIMS and Eurofins eLIMS, or similar platforms.
+ Understanding of and ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Quality Manuals, and laboratory Methods.
+ Awareness of ISO/IEC standards and government regulatory requirements related to laboratory testing and sample management.
+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping.
+ Reliable work ethic and professionalism, supported by positive references.
+ Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage a steady flow of samples.
+ Strong communication skills to collaborate closely with a small team.

Skills & Qualifications
+ BA or BS degree in a scientific discipline, such as biology or a related field, is preferred.
+ Two-year or four-year degree in biology or another scientific area is highly desirable, though candidates without a degree are also considered.
+ Experience in dairy-related testing environments or handling dairy samples is a plus.
+ Exposure to cell culture techniques and autoclave operation is beneficial.
+ Prior experience working in a laboratory or shipping/receiving environment is advantageous.
+ Ability to learn and adhere to new quality system documents and laboratory methods as needed.
Work Environment
This role is based 100% in the sample receiving area, which operates similarly to a shipping department where milk samples from dairy producers are received and entered into the system. The environment is fast paced, with a small team of approximately three people working closely together and relying on strong communication to keep up with sample volume. Start times will alternate between 5:00 a.m., 6:00 a.m., and 7:00 a.m. depending on the assigned area, and the technician typically maintains the same start time for an entire week.
The schedule includes rotating roughly one Saturday per month, with a weekday off during that same week to balance hours. Over time, and based on performance, there may be opportunities to train and work in the microbiology laboratory, splitting time between sample receiving and microbiology testing. The workspace includes laboratory glassware, vials, LIMS systems, and standard laboratory equipment, and cleanliness and organization are emphasized to maintain a safe and…
