The Impact You'll Make in this Role
As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Driving Quality tools in NPI to accelerate projects while mitigating risk by ensuring consumer needs are met, test methods are robust, specifications are well defined, and manufacturing processes are capable. This includes providing input or leading House of Quality (HOQ) / DQM, MSA, product qualifications, PPAP, PFMEA/DFMEA, and phase gate quality preparation
- Assuring compliance with external regulations, customer requirements, internal requirement, and industry standards (ISO
9001, IATF
16949 or other). - Analyzing information using statistical techniques to drive data driven decisions by being a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in statistical techniques.
- Promoting continuous improvement and defect reduction through root cause investigation, CAPA, kaizen, 8D, FMEA, MSA, Product & Process Understanding (PPU), Design of Experiments, and Control Plans.
- Reviewing customer product complaints for timely customer feedback and resolution.
- Supporting existing product evolution and improvement through change management (CMP).
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start).
- Minimum 3 years experience in a quality or manufacturing setting in a private, public, government or military environment.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Master's degree or higher from an accredited institution
- Advanced expertise across multiple quality disciplines, such as quality assurance, product quality control, incoming inspection, Six Sigma, ISO standards, and warranty analysis.
- Experience administering and maintaining ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
- Strong project management capabilities, with a track record of leading complex, cross-functional initiatives.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage senior leadership, peers, teams, customers, and regulatory stakeholders.
- Proficiency with corporate systems and digital tools commonly used in Quality functions, along with strong English verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with Statistical Process Control and other advanced analytical methods used to manage and improve quality performance.
