This NDT Technician position focuses on performing materials testing in a laboratory and field environment using specialized test equipment and non-destructive testing methods. The role involves conducting tests, interpreting results, and supporting engineering teams by ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and safety of tested materials and components.

Responsibilities:

• Perform materials testing in both laboratory and field environments using appropriate test equipment and procedures.
• Conduct non-destructive testing using Level II methods in Radiographic Testing (RT) and Visual Testing (VT).
• Support testing activities that may include Ultrasonic Testing (UT) and other engineering test methods as required.
• Set up, operate, and maintain test equipment and instruments according to established standards and safety guidelines.
• Troubleshoot test equipment and systems to identify issues and perform necessary adjustments or repairs.
• Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and specifications to guide testing and repair activities.
• Document test procedures, results, and observations accurately and clearly for review and reporting.
• Collaborate with engineers and other technical staff to analyze test data and contribute to problem-solving efforts.
• Travel to customer sites or field locations when needed to perform on-site testing and support projects.
• Follow all safety protocols and quality standards while working in both indoor laboratory settings and outdoor environments.

Essential

Skills:

• Level II certifications in Radiographic Testing (RT) and Visual Testing (VT).
• Strong understanding of materials testing in a laboratory environment.
• Hands-on experience working with engineering test equipment.
• Ability to perform troubleshooting on test equipment and related systems.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics and technical documentation.
• Ability to perform basic repair tasks on test equipment and instruments.
• Willingness and ability to travel when needed for testing assignments.
• Capability to work in both indoor lab settings and outdoor field environments.

Additional Skills &

Qualifications:

• Experience with Ultrasonic Testing (UT) or other non-destructive testing methods is beneficial.
• Background in engineering, materials science, or a related technical discipline is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in testing and documentation.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with engineering and technical teams.
• Adaptability and flexibility to work on varied projects and in different environments.

Work Environment:

The role involves a mix of indoor and outdoor work, with significant time spent in a laboratory setting performing materials testing, as well as occasional field assignments at customer or project sites. You will use specialized engineering test equipment and non-destructive testing tools such as RT and VT instruments, and potentially UT equipment. The work culture emphasizes good team collaboration, flexibility, and a supportive environment that values quality and safety in all testing activities.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
