Customer Experience

  • Models and delivers a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
  • Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
  • Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
Operations
  • Provides courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service.
  • Registers sales on assigned cash register, collects cash, distributes change, and processes voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges.
  • Recommends items for sale and trade‑up or companion items to customers.
  • Takes customers to OTC aisle when possible and assists in locating products.
  • Keeps counters and shelves clean, well merchandised, and maintains sales records.
  • Performs duties assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist or Store Manager, including utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, checking for interactions, and verifying medication accuracy.
  • Reports prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty and adheres to company policies and the Quality Improvement Program.
  • Maintains compliance with the Walgreen Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct and Good Faith Dispensing policy.
  • Handles telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist, including those to physicians.
  • Processes manual claims for third‑party program prescription services in a timely manner.
  • Assists with pharmacy inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipments of pharmaceuticals.
  • Ensures compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products such as alcoholic beverages and tobacco.
  • Constructs and maintains displays, including promotional, seasonal, and sale merchandise, and completes resets as directed.
  • Assists with separation of food items and product placement according to policy, and manages stock rotation for consumables.
  • Has working knowledge of store systems and equipment.
  • Provides customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photo service and creative machine sales.
  • Assumes web pick‑up responsibilities by monitoring orders, picking items, and delivering orders to customers upon arrival.
  • Assists with exterior and interior maintenance to ensure a clean, neat, and orderly store condition and appearance.
  • Maintains respectful relationships with coworkers and complies with all company policies and procedures.
  • Completes special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
Training & Personal Development
  • Earns and maintains PTCB certification through the designated training program and/or state‑required certification or registration.
  • Attends training, completes PPLs requested by the Manager or assigned by corporate, and acquires continuing education credits.
  • Maintains knowledge and skill in healthcare and pharmacy, including latest news and developments.
Basic Qualifications
  • Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience of at least six months in a retail environment.
  • Prior work experience with Walgreens.
  • Strong math skills for accurate prescription filling, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Knowledge of store inventory control.
  • PTCB certification.
