The Inside Sales Special contacts potential and existing customers to promote and sell Scanlan’s single-use surgical supply products, along with maintaining and growing customer relationships. They manage and update the sales database with customer information and document all sales interactions. Additionally, they follow up on sales leads, promote sales campaigns, and generate reports to analyze sales metrics.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

80% Selling Scanlan single-use surgical supply products directly to the end user customer to achieve company sales quota:

  • Cold call hospitals, surgery centers, and healthcare personnel
  • Maintain and grow relationships with existing customers
  • Explain products, prices, and answer customer questions
  • Respond to calls from potential customers solicited through advertisements
  • Follow up with customers via email, telephone, or letters
  • Collaborate with sales specialists, regional managers, and distributor reps
  • Prepare and send product samples to customers
  • Promote and sell new products
  • Respond to and follow up on sales leads from various sources
  • Represent Scanlan professionally at all times

20% Maintain and manage inside sales customer database and promotion campaigns

  • Obtain prospect and customer information
    • Gather names, addresses, purchases, and reactions of prospects
    • Ensure customer database is accurate and current
    • Obtain potential customer information from various sources
    • Document sales call correspondence and opportunities
    • Enter tradeshow leads into database and organize follow-up
  • Promote sales campaigns
    • Follow marketing plan guidelines to meet sales goals
    • Attend sales and trade meetings
    • Prepare sales packets for trade shows
    • Track sales from tradeshow leads
  • Access Business Intelligence System
    • Generate reports and gather information on closed opportunities and sales metrics

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or equivalent required

3+ years of direct sales experience with at least 1 year of inside telephone sales experience.

Demonstrable intermediate-level Microsoft Office skills.

Customer database experience is preferred

This position is based out of our headquarters office, south of downtown St. Paul. We welcome an on-site work environment Monday through Friday.

The hours for this position are 8:00 am – 4:30pm

Compensation

The annual base salary for this role is $48,000, plus annual commissions with a range of $24,000 - $37,000. Anticipated annual total compensation of $80,000.
