GENERAL PURPOSE

The Senior Sales Manager is responsible for contributing to the total sales and marketing efforts of the hotel. They will manage accounts to achieve guest satisfaction and to solicit past and new business to ensure all revenue goals are achieved or exceeded. This role requires excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Our ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service through the creative development and fulfillment of proposals and business agreements.

ESSENTIAL

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Present, promote, and sell rooms and function spaces to current and potential clients.

Follow up on new leads and referrals from all sources. Identify and contact sales prospects and other accounts as assigned. Establishing potential client relationships as well as maintaining current client relationships.

Participate in sales events such as seminars, trade shows, receptions and telemarketing events. Assist in implementation of company marketing plans as needed and developing and maintaining current product knowledge and sales materials.

Prepare presentations, proposals, and sales contracts. Professionally maintain account in Delphi as well as keep all department files, reports and miscellaneous correspondence are up to date. Prepare a variety of status reports, including activity, production, follow-up, and adherence to goals.

Provide additional assistance to staff and customers as needed.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

3-5 years previous hotel sales experience is required.

Knowledge & Skills

High School Degree required.

Knowledge of business travel account management is highly desirable.

Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This including marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.

Thorough organization and time management skills to complete tasks efficiently.

Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers in a positive and professional manner.

Knowledge of principles and process for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices.

Strong computer skills, previous experience with Delphi, Branded Hotel Property Management systems, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are preferred but not required.

Abilities

Able to perform the essential functions as outlined with or without reasonable accommodation.

Ability to listen and communicate effectively in English with excellent grammar and spelling skills.

Able to sit for long periods of time at a desk using office equipment such as a computer, keyboards, calculator, telephone and other office equipment in the course of a normal workday.

Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties.

Walking, moving about on foot to accomplish tasks particularly for long distances or moving from work site to another.

Inside 90% Outside 10% exposure to elements of extreme heat in the summer and extreme cold in the winter when attending sales functions.
